Awake Young India Foundation is a purpose-driven non-profit organization established in 2015 by Shri Prasanna Naik, a professionally trained social worker with a Master’s degree in Social Work. With a strong grassroots presence across 12 districts of Karnataka, the Foundation works in the areas of youth empowerment, environmental sustainability, education, and community development, striving to build pathways for inclusive and sustainable progress.
Rooted in the belief that empowered youth are the cornerstone of a progressive nation, the Foundation collaborates with schools, institutions, and communities in both rural and urban areas. Through its programs, young people are equipped with knowledge, practical skills, and leadership opportunities while fostering a strong sense of environmental responsibility and civic engagement.
Over the years, the Foundation has made a significant impact by sensitizing more than 39,000 students on sustainability and biodiversity and establishing over 150 herbal gardens in schools to promote environmental learning. The organization has also supported over 3,000 aspirants through competitive exam coaching and trained 200 youth through skill development programs, helping them secure employment in the private sector.
Committed to environmental conservation, the Foundation has planted more than 60,000 trees, including the development of Miyawaki forests that contribute to biodiversity conservation and climate resilience. Along with environmental initiatives, the organization also conducts community outreach programs to connect eligible families with important Central and State Government welfare schemes.
